permalink Mural in the West Point cadet mess hall depicting great military commanders through history.

I don’t know the dimensions, but the person in blue in the left center is my brother, who stands 6 feet tall.

permalink I saw this freight car on the outskirts of the vans warped tour in St. Louis. Something struck me about the fact that this eagle would soon be left in the middle of nowhere with only the fire hydrant after all of the activity of the concert had gone.

permalink I took this photo at the Dickinson St. Post Office (Philadelphia). The artist signature was from 1935. I wonder how it got on that wall? Who decided to cut holes in it? The mural depicts a man on horseback apparently directing the work of other shirtless white men at what looks like a kiln or forge. there’s a brick house up on a grassy hill above them. What is the inspiration for this? The painting just struck me as a slightly tragic piece of history hidden in plain sight.
